“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” – Romans 5:1-5 (ESV)
When we fully accept Christ into our hearts and are no longer at odds with God, His peace can then transform us. Through that overwhelming love our trials take on their proper perspective; allowing us to rejoice in times of both struggle and abundance, secure in the knowledge of our Heavenly Father’s benevolent desire for us.

“I waited patiently for the Lord;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the Lord.” – Psalm 40:1-3 (ESV)
At some point in our lives, there will come a time where we feel like we’ve hit rock-bottom. In that moment of despair, take heart in the fact that while we’re fearful, anxious and shaken… God isn’t! Lift your burdens to the hands of the One who never falters, and let Him use those trials to draw you to His side.

“An excellent wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels.
The heart of her husband trusts in her,
and he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good, and not harm,
all the days of her life.” – Proverbs 31:10-12 (ESV)
Men; It becomes very easy sometimes to allow our focus to be drawn to the glitter of the “things” in this world, when in fact we need to remember that our marriages are far more precious than anything we could ever obtain. Have you thanked God for your wife today?
