Dear Lord; Happy Thankful Thursday Father!
Well Father, You’re certainly providing us with an eventful week here in Delaware. Between the earthquake that we experienced on Tuesday and the impending arrival of hurricane Irene this weekend, we’re very much “on our toes” around here. And while we’ll of course be preparing as best we can for the potential effects of the storm, my fears are allayed by the knowledge that we’re in Your capable hands.
It’s been a slightly stressful week for me Lord, however as always Your Blessings in my life shine through that haze. To continue my Thankful Thursday list, this week I’m especially grateful for:
211. The sounds of crickets serenading me as I sit on our deck at night.
212. Jonathan and Aidan having a great first day back at school.
213. Shannon having a wonderful first day of work.
214. A smooth server installation for a new client today.
215. No damage or injuries from the earthquake that happened this week.
216. The soothing effect Praise Music has on Jonathan when he’s stressed.
217. Feeling more “in-tune” with Your Presence each day.
218. A significant surge in business this past week.
219. Having a dedicated Service Manager (and close friend) who keeps my business going.
220. Melatonin supplements to help with getting my sleep cycle back on track.
221. Fabric Softener.
222. The inner peace I draw from Your Presence.
223. Port wine cheese spread on Ritz crackers.
224. The fact that my kids still like to snuggle up with me. 🙂
225. Neighbors that keep a watchful eye on our home, and let us know when they see something that may be wrong.
And I’m just getting started Father. 🙂
Heavenly Father, I pray that the peace of Your presence is felt by all those gripped by fear as this hurricane heads towards us. Please keep those in harm’s way in Your watchful gaze, and bring us all safely through the storm.
In Jesus’ Name we pray,
Amen.

Phil, as always, I love your list! #211, I love listening the sounds of nature! #216, it is so incredible that worship music can usher His presence in and bring a calm. And so very thankful that my friends are safe from the earth quake and praying for those in the path of the hurricane.
Thank you Jenifer! Even in the chaos of things like earthquakes and hurricanes, He loves us and remains in control. We are so Blessed!
Have a Blessed Day!
Always soothed by your anecdotes about your growing family, your beautiful wife and the LORD whose LOVE you share. Thank you and blessings from our home to yours, MOM NANHI & POP LESLIE.
Thank you so much Mother Nanhi! Blessings to your home as well!
Have a Blessed Day!
Great list again, Phil. Focusing on our blessings does bring peace in the midst of chaos. It certainly has been an eventful week on the east coast. Praying that everyone stays safe this weekend.
Thank you Lisa… It certainly does help me when things seem to be spiraling out of control to remember that His control never falters!
Have a Blessed Day!
I love your thankfulness for your kids’ smooth first day back to school. My children have been in Christian school until this year. They started public school on Tuesday. It was a little overwhelming for them, but they are settling in. My daughter (13) has already gotten to share her faith with a new friend. God is concerned with all of the things in our lives… and I, too, am thankful.
Thank you Wayne, and welcome! I took a quick look at your blog, and look forward to getting an opportunity to read it more thoroughly.
Thank you again for the visit, and the comment!
Have a Blessed Day!
Phil,
I love your list I especially love #211, I am sitting here at my desk with the windows open reading blogs and trying to write one and listening the crickets chirp outside. And don’t you just love praise music? My heart gets so full and overflowing when I stand in the middle of my living room with some good worship music my hands high in the air, arms wide inviting Jesus in, I can’t think of a better feeling.
Blessings.
It’s a wonderfully peaceful sound, isn’t it Kandi? Nothing like God’s Creation serenading you! And yes, it’s amazing how Praise Music can get into our hearts… It’s hard to be stressed or upset when you’re singing about God’s glory!
Have a Blessed Day!
